TISAX (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) is an information security standard for the automotive industry, developed by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Based on ISO 27001, it sets out the security requirements that suppliers and partners must fulfil. TISAX certification demonstrates to potential partners that a company meets high security standards and is critical to meeting the requirements of automotive manufacturers.
It consists of several stages. First, the company carries out internal preparations, adapting its ISMS to the TISAX requirements. It then commissions an ENX-accredited audit service provider to assess the implementation of, and compliance with, the TISAX requirements. Upon successful completion, the company receives a TISAX seal, which must be renewed regularly to maintain certification.
TISAX certification strengthens business partners' and customers' trust in a company's information security, increasing opportunities for new business relationships in the automotive industry. Additionally, it helps minimise security risks, ensure compliance and guarantee long-term competitiveness.
