Dr. Matthias Tiemer

Dr Matthias Tiemer, Mag. iur. (TCD), is a Managing Consultant at the Berlin office of ISiCO GmbH. He advises in the areas of data protection and AI, as well as data strategy and data governance.

His advisory focus lies in supporting the establishment and further development of data protection management systems, optimising data protection processes, conducting data protection audits and data protection impact assessments, and risk management for complex data processing operations. Dr Tiemer also advises on data governance topics, including maturity assessments and data products.

He has in-depth sector knowledge, particularly in the financial sector and e-commerce. In his advisory work, he combines many years of practical experience with a strong understanding of regulatory contexts as well as technical and process-related requirements. This enables him to support companies in implementing robust, marketable and holistic solutions.

Dr Tiemer is admitted to practise law in Berlin and is an Abogado in Madrid. After starting his career in the legal department of a major direct bank, he worked abroad for five years, first as Head of Legal Affairs of a European banking sector association in Brussels and then as a lawyer and Abogado in Madrid. He subsequently returned to the legal department of a direct bank, where he worked for more than 12 years and also served as Deputy Data Protection Officer. He then headed the data protection team of a leading online price comparison portal for three years.
