Esra Akpinar is a Managing Consultant and has been with ISiCO since March 2022.
She advises on data protection and AI. Her areas of focus include acting as an external Data Protection Officer, establishing data protection management systems, conducting data protection audits and data protection training, and drafting policies.
In addition, she supports clients with personal data breaches, data subject requests, data protection impact assessments, video surveillance matters and deletion concepts, as well as data protection-related projects and general data protection law issues.
She has experience in various sectors, including e-commerce, healthcare, the energy sector, industry, real estate and foundations.
Esra Akpinar studied at the University of Giessen and completed her legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Cologne, with placements including the Regional Court of Cologne, the Local Court of Bergheim, the Cologne Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Cologne District Government, the City of Cologne, a Cologne-based law firm specialising in civil and criminal law, and a trade and tourism group operating throughout Germany and Europe. After completing her legal traineeship, she worked in the public sector.
